Avondale, AZ(November 8, 2012) — Chase Elliott had the quickest lap among NASCAR K&N Pro Series West competitors at Phoenix International Raceway on Thursday, as teams prepared for the Casino Arizona 50.

Elliott of Dawsonville, Ga., turned a lap of 28.034 seconds (128.415 mph) in his No. 94 Hendrickcars.com/Aaron’s Cheverolet. The 16-year-old second-generation driver is making his third appearance at the one-mile track.

Michael Self had the second quickest lap at 28.071 seconds (128.246 mph). He was followed by Bryan Ortiz, Brett Thompson and Eric Holmes. Derek Thorn, Dylan Kwasniewski, Greg Pursley, Johnny Borneman and Brian Wong completed the top 10.

In one of the closest championship battles in the history of the series, Kwasniewski leads Pursley by two points in the standings heading into this final event of the season.

Final practice for the series will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday. Qualifying is set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, with the race following later that day at 5 p.m.
