Rockingham, NC(November 2, 2012) -– It was a day of firsts at Rockingham Speedway as CJ Faison captured his first career NASCAR K&N Pro Series East pole for the inaugural Classic 3 Championship presented by RCR Racing Museum.

From Seaford, Del., Faison piloted the No. 39 Little Caesar’s Pizza Chevrolet to a fast lap of 24.528 seconds (146.711 mph) to take home is 21 Means 21 Pole Award by Coors Brewing Company. Faison will be making just his 12th career K&N Pro Series East appearance in Saturday’s season finale.

Season points leader Kyle Larson, from Elk Grove, Calif., was 11th-fastest in qualifying at 24.780 (145.278). Brett Moffitt, from Grimes, Iowa, enters the weekend 10 points behind in the championship standings and he qualified fifth at 24.698 (145.761).

Winner of three of the previous four events, and five overall, Corey LaJoie qualified fourth at 24.649 (146.051). LaJoie, from Concord, N.C., enters the weekend 19 points behind Larson in the championship chase.

Faison will be joined on the front row Saturday by Darrell Wallace Jr., who posted a fast lap of 24.539 (146.705). The rest of the top-10 qualifiers for Saturday’s finale were Coleman Pressley, LaJoie, Moffitt, Tyler Reddick, Jesse Little, Ben Kennedy, Cale Conley and Bryan Ortiz.

The Classic 3 Championship presented by RCR Racing Museum is slated to take the green flag on Saturday at approximately 2 p.m.
