Ace Speedway will be hosting the second running of the Rodney Cook Memorial on Friday night.  The race is run in tribute of Rodney Cook, a former Ace Speedway track champion.  Cook passed away in December 2013 after a battle with cancer.

Last year, Justin Snow claimed the victory in the inaugural running of the event.   This year’s race boasts a $12,700 purse with $2,500 going to the winner of the 150 lap Late Model Stock Car race.  The second place finisher will take home $1,500 and the third place position pays $1,000.

Where: Ace Speedway;   3401 Altamahaw Race Track Road, Altamahaw, NC 27244.
When: Friday, May 15, 2015; 8pm EST.
How to watch: If you can’t make it to the race, will have Five Star Bodies RACEDAY LIVE coverage with complete, up to the minute updates from the action.

Dennis Holdren and Barry Beggarly are the only two drivers to have scored victories at Ace Speedway with both drivers scoring wins in twin 50 lap races held on April 17th.  Ace had had races scheduled since then but those Late Model races have been cancelled due to rain.

Dustin Rumley, Jason York, RD Smith, Dennis Holdren and Barry Beggarly are among those who are expected to compete in Friday night’s race.

The Limited Late Models will also be in action at Ace Speedway tonight along with the Ace Speedway Modifieds, the Extreme division and the Mini-Stock division.
