POQUOSON, VA :: Posting eight wins and capturing the 2014 track championship at Langley Speedway, add the 2012 winner of the Autumn Classic to the entry list this weekend at Southern National Motorsports Park.

Greg Edwards has taken some time off from racing and hasn’t competed since last September when he won both features to close out the year at Langley, even missing the big dance at Martinsville. There is no reason to think otherwise that Edwards won’t be hungry and looking to win big at the Autumn Classic. This year, Edwards will be wheeling the hot rod belonging to long time racer and friend J.T. Jackson. Featuring a Hedgecock prepped chassis powered by a Charlie High built bowtie makes Jackson’s piece very attractable to the likes of Greg Edwards.

”Yep, were going to give it a shot, J.T. has helped me out a lot and he asked me to drive his car”, Edwards said. “I went down and looked at it and it’s a really nice piece. Took it to Langley last week, shook it down and it was fast. I’m really looking forward to it”.

Car owner J.T. Jackson shares the same enthusiasm.

“I’m really excited about it, man if we can win this thing I tell you, I’ll be ready to retire as a driver from racing,” Jackson said. “This would mean everything to me.”

Edwards then talked about his chances to win though bearing mind his test at Langley is no gauge to Southern National.

“There’s just no reason why we can’t win this race,” Edwards remarked. “J.T. has done a phenomenal job of having this car built. We’re going to have a great time, we’re just going to go down there and give it our best shot and see what we can do, man, if we could get a win out of this, oh man it would be incredible”.

Next we talked about what it would mean to join the likes of Jamey Caudill and Sprint Cup series regular Denny Hamlin as the only repeat winners of the Autumn Classic.

“It would be great, I mean to go down there and win it once was awesome but to get to do it for and in J.T.’s race car would be one heck of a celebration,” Edwards stated.  “It’s a great race, it pays good money man I love that race track, I mean, they have a great race track there. Racing at Langley all season, this weekend is a welcomed change for me and were all looking forward to it”.

Sometimes in local short track racing, enthusiasm, determination can get you a good finish position in most any race. But when you have a car owner like Jackson sporting some good stuff to race along with a driver as focused and driven as Greg Edwards. Just don’t be surprised to see that team effort in the Autumn Classic battling for the win
