Pounding Mill, VA(November 14, 2012) – Adam Long’s top-ten finish at Martinsville has given him reason to believe he can compete for the win at Myrtle Beach Speedway entering Sunday’s Myrtle Beach 400.

Long rallied to a 10th place finish his last time out at Martinsville Speedway after starting in 29th position. Long, who recorded three wins this season at Kingsport Speedway, feels he can compete with the best at “The Beach” after his breakthrough performance.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that we can contend for the win at Myrtle Beach,” Long said. “There will be a lot of guys out there, but you know, we were able to drive through the field at Martinsville and that kind of experience definitely works in our favor.”

Long can get the job done in big races. Earlier this year, he won the “King of the Concrete Jungle” at Kingsport Speedway. Long’s first career win on his breakout season came back in June.

“This has been an awesome season,” Long said. “We’ve caught some good breaks but, for the most part, our performance has improved so much this year. I’ve improved a lot as a driver as well and it gives me so much confidence. I’m sure we’ll be able to go in to Myrtle Beach and finish this season on a high note.

“We need to get a better qualifying effort on Saturday and if we can do that, I’m extremely confident we can win this race.”

The 20th Annual Myrtle Beach Speedway runs on Sunday, November 18, 2012 with practice beginning on Wednesday, November 14, 2012.
