GRUNDY, VA :: Rockin’ Ryan Stiltner picked up his seventh win of the season at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA on Saturday night. Stiltner’s win came after a two month slump that had kept him out of victory lane. Stiltner’s last win had come on June 15th.
This weekend, Stiltner was back to form. He was fastest in practice, fastest in qualifying and dominant in the race.
“We were fastest in both practice sessions, fastest in qualifying and wasted no time getting to the lead,” said Stiltner. “We had a really good car. The past two months had been tough between the weather causing the track to cancel races and we’ve had problems with our car and motor. It’s nice to be back to winning races again.”
Stiltner’s qualifying time was a 16.699. After an invert, Stiltner only took eight laps to get to the lead. He would go on to win the race, surviving a handful of restarts and dominating the 60 lap race.
“It’s great to know that we have the championship locked up,” said Stiltner. “It’s awesome to get our seventh win of the season. We’ve worked hard. We’ve had some struggles but it has all come together.”
Stiltner’s win came a week after he had a fourth place finish on Kingsport Speedway (on August 9, 2013). He also competed at Kingsport Speedway on Friday night, scoring an 11th place finish in one of two twin races.
