MOORESVILLE, NC :: Caleb Holman shook things up at Southern National Motorsports Park two weeks ago when he became the first driver besides Clay Rogers or Mark McFarland to visit Edelbrock Victory Lane this season. Now the X-1R Pro Cup Series, formerly known as the Hooters Pro Cup Series, will head to Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Alabama for the first time in seven years dating back to Shane Huffman’s win in 2006. With variety of unknown variables when it comes to the track itself; mixed with many new faces making their season debut, this weekend’s race could be the biggest wild card all season for the series.

TOP STORIES:
Clay Rogers Looking to Rebound at MMSPoint’s leader Clay Rogers, who won the first three races of the season, did not have the finish he was hoping for at Southern National Motorsports Park. After fighting a tight handling car, Rogers was trying his best to ride things out until a caution flew. On Lap 94 Roger’s became the caution when his #16 Lamb & Robinson Ford went up in flames down the front stretch. Rogers was unharmed in the incident and had to accept his first disappointing finish of the year. Though this incident didn’t hurt his point’s lead by much, it did allow second place man in the standings, JP Morgan to gain 42 points on the leader, narrowing Rogers points lead to 108.

Entering The Unknown: As the series heads to Montgomery, the only active drivers who have competed at the Central Alabama track in past Pro Cup events are Clay Rogers, , and Bill Plemmons Jr. With that in mind, the KOMA Unwind 200 could be one of the most exciting races of the 2013 season. There are just two races left until we reset the field and start our Championship Series, meaning our drivers are going to be racing as hard as ever to visit Edelbrock Victory Lane.
