GRUNDY, VA :: Rockin’ Ryan Stiltner will be heading to Martinsville Speedway this weekend to make his first attempt at the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300.  Stiltner, who is second in the ASA National Championship Standings, comes to Martinsville on his best season in racing after winning the track championship in the Late Model Stock Car division at Lonesome Pine Raceway.

Stiltner hopes he can qualify for the field and finish the race inside the top 20.

“If nothing happens, I think we should have a shot at making the race,” Stiltner said.  “We were really good at testing.  We’ve made some changes this week to make it better so we’ll be good as long as nothing drastic happens in the heat races.”

Stiltner won seven races at Lonesome Pine Raceway in his championship season and also competed at Kingsport Speedway in Tennessee.  He will take the car he ran at Kingsport to Martinsville but feels he can carry over notes from Lonesome Pine.

“I think I can take a lot of our setup notes from Lonesome Pine to Martinsville,” Stiltner remarked.  “The tracks are similar so the notes work.”

Last year, Stiltner’s father, Keith Stiltner, attempted to make the field in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300.  This year, Ryan Stiltner decided to give it a shot.

Qualifying for the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300, which is on Saturday, will set the field for four heat races, which will be followed by a Last Chance Qualifier race.  Those heat races, which will take place on Sunday prior to the 200-lap feature race, will set the field for the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300.  The heat races will begin at 12pm EST on Sunday.  RACE22.com will have Live Coverage of the race.
