LUCAMA, NC – Southern National Motorsports Park is set to host Super Late Model racing once more this season when the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) visits for a 150 lap showdown under the lights.

The decade-old PASS series has made nine visits to Southern National Motorsports Park throughout its history and has seen eight different winners in those nine races. Those list of winners include short track legends Freddie Query, Ben Rowe and Jay Fogleman, Super Late Model standout Preston Peltier and NASCAR star Daniel Hemric. Hemric is the only driver to score multiple PASS South victories at Southern National.

Last November, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina driver Trevor Noles scored his first and only PASS Super Late Model win at Southern National driving for [Joey] Coulter Motorsports and Randy Renfrow. This time around, Coulter Motorsports will have a popular Southern National fan favorite in that ride – four time track champion Deac McCaskill. McCaskill raced for the team at South Boston in August, finishing second in his first career PASS series start.

The Southern National race also provides a great opportunity for local racer Justin Gill who will be making only his third PASS South start. Gill finished 11th in his most recent PASS South appearance at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, North Carolina back in July. Now, the Wilson, North Carolina driver is hoping to score his first top-10 finish and possibly pull off the upset and score the victory.

The series has been dominated this season by Zane Smith. The California kid has three wins this season and leads the series points. He’s coming to Southern National in hopes of scoring win number four. He will have his work cut out for him with McCaskill just like McCaskill made it hard for him at South Boston. Durham, North Carolina’s Tate Fogleman, who sits second in points, Sanford, North Carolina’s Jody Measamer and Nashville, North Carolina’s Jeff Batten all have hopes of scoring their first career PASS South victory and all want to make it happen on a track that serves as a home field for them.

The PASS South Super Late Models will not be the only attraction on September 26th. The PASS Pro Late Models will also be in action along with the USAC Midgets which will be sure to entertain as they fly around the high banked 4/10-mile track.

The PASS South race will go green at 7pm on September 26th. Qualifying will commence at 5:30pm. For more information about the PASS South series, visit their website at www.proallstarsseries.com.
