LUCAMA, NC :: There will be new voice of Southern National Motorsports Park, as the track will have Ken Childs on public address for the 2014 season.  Fans of SNMP will recognize Childs’ voice as one-half of the announce team for the 2012 and 2013 editions of the Thanksgiving All-Star Classic.  In addition to his race-day announce duties, Childs will handle the day-to-day social media responsibilities for the track.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the 2014 season,” said Childs.  “Mike Diaz and Jerry Brown have both done an amazing job with helping the track become one of the premiere local racing facilities on the east coast, and to be a part of that growth is exciting.”

Childs brings over ten years of motorsports media experience to Southern National, including various writing, photography and radio credits, most recently as a color commentator at Orange County Speedway and lead-reporter for RaceRap.com.

Southern National Motorsports Park opens its 2014 season March 1 with a twin 100 lap main event for the NASCAR Late Model Stocks.
