COEBURN, VA :: Rockin’ Ryan Stiltner added to his points lead at Lonesome Pine Raceway on Saturday night when he won the 60 lap Late Model feature.  Stiltner dominated most of the day, sitting on the pole and winning the race after racing side-by-side with a competitor for several laps on multiple occasions.

“It was a lot of fun racing tonight,” said Stiltner.  “This one wasn’t easy to win like a lot of other ones have been.  I actually had to drive my butt off to get it.  The restarts were tough.  I knew my car’s handling would be right there and (other cars) faded away.  I pulled back in front and pulled away.”

Stiltner qualified on the pole for the race, setting a fast lap of 16.592 seconds.  At the start of the race, he fell to second and stayed inside the top three until he regained the lead on lap 25.  On a late race restart with 18 to go, he again fell to second but once again, he quickly worked his way back to the lead with 12 to go and never looked back.

“I just want to thank everyone who helped us,” said Stiltner.  “Jay Hedgecock Racecars gave us an awesome race car.  Kowalski Racing Engines gave us a strong motor.  I also want to thank my crew chief, my dad and my grandpa and everybody who helped me.  This wouldn’t be possible without them.”

Stiltner led 27 laps in Saturday night’s race.

Stiltner will compete in the UARA-STARS race at Lonesome Pine Raceway next Saturday, June 1st.

“I’m feeling good about that race,” remarked Stiltner.  “I hope we have the car hooked up on the new shocks.  I think we have a good shot at winning that race.”
