Ricky Bowers entered into the second race of the Southeast Super Truck Series season this past weekend with momentum on his side.      Coming off an eight-place finish at Tri County Speedway in his first start in the trucks, Ricky and his team were anxious to get to race number two at Anderson Motor Speedway.

With a field of twenty trucks, Ricky was able to qualify in sixth position against fierce competition.  Bowers found himself battling up front for most of the race, and setting himself up for a great finish. After the checkered flag flew on the 75-lap race, Bowers in his Leicht Motorsports, Cometic Gasket, MPM Marketing Toyota Tundra found himself on the podium, finishing third.

“I am really proud of the number 61 team this weekend,” Bowers said “we showed not only that we are competitive, but that we will be contending for the win every race.  Thanks to Eugene, Randy, Quincy, and the rest of the Leicht Motorsports team for giving me such a great truck.”

Tonya McCallister, Ricky’s agent, mirrored the excitement saying, “I could not have been more proud of Ricky and the team.  He drove an outstanding race.   To finish 3rd in only his 2nd race in the trucks and with this team says a lot about his talent and his team.”

Bowers hopes to continue his good performance entering into his next race at Lonesome Pine Speedway on May 2nd.   Team owner, Eugene Leicht feels confident about the continued performance.   Leicht stated, “Ricky is doing a fantastic job.  He continues to impress us with his talent.  We are really working well together.  I feel sure we have a win in our near future!”
