Empire Racing and Grumpy’s Performance have teamed up to offer the perfect ladder Driver Development Program with cars starting in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Models to the ARCA Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Empire Racing, owned by Sean and John Corr, have teamed with Grumpy’s Performance, owned by Mike (Grumpy) and Sherri Cheek, to create a completely in house Driver Development ladder system.  Drivers can start out in a Late Model Stock Car in either the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series or the CARS Tour and, as they progress, move to the ARCA Racing Series and then the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Empire Racing has openings available to start a young driver in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model immediately.

“We’ve set the stage to give a couple of young drivers the perfect ladder system all within the same team to go from Late Models to ARCA to Trucks,” said Mike Cheek.  “We’ve got two Late Model programs, several ARCA Cars and several Trucks to move them from one series to the next.”

Empire Racing will field a Late Model this weekend for Late Model Stock Car veteran Alex Yontz at Caraway Speedway.

“I’m happy to say that Alex Yontz will be behind the wheel of one of our Late Models this weekend at Caraway.  Alex and I have worked together for a while now and we’re excited to have him behind the wheel this weekend.”

Yontz is one of the most decorated Late Model Stock Car drivers with wins in the biggest races including being the only Late Model Stock Car driver to win at both Martinsville and Bristol.  He most recently picked up a win in the Rodney Cook Memorial at Ace Speedway earlier this season.

In addition to running Yontz in the Late Model this weekend, Empire Racing will field two trucks at Eldora next week and plan to have Austin Hill and Ronnie Bassett, Jr. behind the wheel of their cars at some point this season.

“We’ve created a one-stop shop,” continued Cheek.  “We have three complete teams and all the equipment to operate out of our shop.  I’ve been doing this 38 years and I’m proud of what we’re building here and the proven success we’ve had.  We’re just looking for the right funded driver to put behind the wheel to take them to the next level.”
