NEWTON, NC :: Preston Peltier became a two time winner of the Easter Bunny 150 on Saturday night after making a late race pass on Trevor Sanborn to score the victory.  After Peltier passed Sanborn, he had to survive restarts with three laps to go and two laps to go in order to win.

On the final restart, the two cars made contact when racing side-by-side for the lead.  Peltier was able to recover and go on to win the race but it left Sanborn fuming.

“(Trevor)’s a little unhappy,” Peltier said in victory lane.  “He said I ran him up the track but I was on the apron.  I lost one of these races getting pinched down there and I wasn’t going to let it happen again.  It’s racing, that’s the way it is.  I don’t feel like I did anything wrong.  We’re here in victory lane.”

“Preston was better but the second groove is the preferred groove on a restart,” Sanborn said.  “We did two restarts.  I don’t feel Preston treated me very fair.  He ran me up the racetrack on both restarts.  I gave him all the room in the world.  I think it was kind of a s****y deal.”

Peltier started seventh and ran in the top ten consistently throughout the race.  He worked over Trevor Sanborn and DJ Shaw in the closing laps.  Shaw would go on to finish second while Sanborn fell to third on the last lap of the race.  Clay Rogers and Joey Measamer rounded out the top five.

Garrett Campbell, who ran in the UARA-STARS race at Hickory Motor Speedway last weekend, looked like he would be a factor in the closing stages until he got caught up in a wreck that also took out NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Johanna Long.  Roger Lee Newton was also a factor in much of the event but faded in the closing stages.

Zak Hausler won the Last Chance Qualifier race and made the most of it, running in the top-ten before getting caught up in a wreck that relegated his final finishing position to an 18th place finish.

PASS Pro Late Model Series points leader Trevor Noles crossed the finish line first in the Pro Late Model race and appeared to have a second consecutive victory but was disqualified after the race due to an engine infraction.  As a result of the disqualification, Jared Fryar inherited the victory.

The debut of the PASS CCS Modified division was a race dominated by Josh Nichols.
