Parity continued in the Super Late Model division of the World Series of Asphalt as Zane Smith scored his first career victory in Race 3 of Speedweeks at New Smyrna Speedway.

The victory was not without controversy however as Smith made contact with Brad May on a restart with eight laps remaining and held off an extra aggressive Harrison Burton to become the third different winner in three nights of Super Late Model competition.

The race was the 35-lap make-up for the one rained out on Tueday night.

May simply appeared to spin as a result of his own aggression on the bottom of Turn 4 after slight contact with Smith with NASCAR officials seemingly seeing it the same way, electing not to penalize the leader for his part in the incident.

Smith won the race over former Speedweeks champion Ryan Moore, Burton, Joey Mucciacciaro, Stephen Nasse, Steve Wallace, Garrett Jones, Gus Dean, Natalie Decker.

Paul Shafer Jr. and Ty Majeski entered the race as the championship leaders, with Majeski holding the tiebreaker based on his Night 2 Victory. However, both contenders struggled in Race 1 on Wednesaday night with Shafer finishing 10th and Majeski finishing 13th.

Mucciacciaro entered the race third in the standings and will take the championship lead with one more race remaining on Wednesday night. The division will compete every night, leading up to the Bruce Gowland Memorial 100 which will serve as the championship race for the division the night before the Daytona 500.
