Race Tires America, a division of Specialty Tires of America, and Feature Racing Products, announce the return of the legendary McCreary tire brand to the world of asphalt stock car racing. A familiar name to race fans and competitors will once again adorn race tires on the short tracks of America.       “We are excited about working with Feature Racing Products as our distributor of the all new McCreary and our full line of American Racer products”, stated Scott Junod, Director of Racing of Race Tires America. “This project has been an exciting one for us as we bring back a brand that was founded in 1915 and has been raced on by some of the best racers in history.”

Feature Racing Products has already reached an agreement with Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, VA. In 2016 with the track’s Papa John’s Late Model division will be racing on the McCreary tire and their Signature Home Settlements Modified, Honeybaked Ham Dominion Stock, D & L Mechanical Services U Car, and Mini-Mod support divisions will run on American Racer product.

In addition to the oval track tires, Feature Racing Products will also distribute American Racer tires for road courses. Feature Racing Products will be the sole distributor for Race Tires America’s asphalt products in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Eddie Johnson, one of the mid-Atlantic’s most prolific short track drivers had this to say after a recent test at Dominion Raceway. “I was real pleased and felt like the tire will make for some good racing. It puts it back in the driver’s hands.” Johnson also commented on the consistency of the tire, “it stayed real consistent over the run and size wise they stayed close to where they started, this should lead to some good racing.”

“Really excited to work with the great group at McCreary and American Racer, they are really looking out for the best interest of the racers.” said Dominion Raceway Race Director Chris Stefi.

Dominion Raceway is slated to open this Spring and race under the NASCAR Whelen All American banner for their inaugural season.
