Lee Faulk Racing is now making an assertive effort to pave a clear cut path for talented Mexican stock car drivers to race in the United States. LFR, with the help of long time friend and NASCAR rising star Daniel Suarez have now made it easier for Mexican drivers to continue on the NASCAR career path.

The first test came this week with driver Omar Jurado Chavez. Omar drove for Daniel’s fathers team in Mexico. An opportunity came for Omar this past week as he made his first start in the United States with Lee Faulk Racing.
Omar only had one full day of testing under his belt at Hickory speedway before the team put him in his first race at Greenville Pickens Speedway. LFR hired veteran crew chief Jerry Babb to instruct and coach Omar and we have already been able to see the progression as Omar and his team kicked off his season with a 9th place finish in his first career start.

“We are impressed with Omar’s progression in such a short amount of seat time. He can to us in a last minute deal and we plan to run him 15 races this season. We didn’t have much time to prepare him for his first race but he and the team did a great job. A top 10 finish in his first start with no damage to the car is all we could ask for.” Michael Faulk stated about the teams first race together.

Suarez and Faulk plan to continue to bring talent from Mexico to the US in the future. Now that there is a clear cut path from Mexico to the top of NASCAR in America with this connection, it will be exciting to see what kind of new talent the partnership will be able to produce.

“I have known Mike and Lee for a couple of years now, great equipment, great teamwork. I had the opportunity to work with them and the put together a great and “real” development program, one of the best late model teams. For sure the best option for the next guys that want to come from my country to get involved in the world of this great sport.” Suarez commented on the new partnership.
