BLOOMINGDALE, TN :: Derrick Lancaster survived the carnage at Kingsport Speedway to bring home the final victory of the season at ‘The Concrete Jungle’.

Lancaster took the white flag as the leader.  McCarty would dive hard into turn three and root the No. 25 of Lancaster out of the way. The caution would wave, when the No. 40 of Peters stalled in turn four, as the leaders exited turn four. McCarty would cross the line first, but Lancaster was awarded the win due to the caution being on the last lap.

Track regulations are that in the event a caution is displayed on the last lap, the previous green flag lap will determine the finish.

“We were just going to ride the first 100 laps in the top four, or five. It’s all racing,” said Lancaster. “We started fourth with 25 [laps] to go and drove straight to the front.”

“We had a three or four car length lead coming to the white flag. And when the sky blew up going down there, I checked up [due to fluid on the track],” remarked Lancaster. “Then he [McCarty] comes in a hits me.”

“Hey, it’s all for a tick-tock. It’s going to be tick-tocking in my house this time,” laughed Lancaster, speaking of his new Grandfather Clock.

Ronnie McCarty would finish second after the last-lap controversy.

Hayden Woods capped off his season with a hard-fought third-place finish. “It was rough. It was hard to pass, hard to get through,” said Woods. “We were hoping something would happen up front, but we came home with a solid third-place finish tonight.”

Gatlin and Boatman rounded out the top-five.
