Dirt racing standout Bobby Pierce made a name for himself in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway in July.  Now, he will be racing in an asphalt Late Model for the first time.

Pierce will be racing at Hickory Motor Speedway, piloting the car usually occupied by reigning Hickory Motor Speedway track champion Josh Berry.  Pierce won the pole and finished second in his NASCAR debut in the MudSummer Classic at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio — the only dirt race that any of NASCAR’s seven touring divisions in the United States runs.

Berry will not be without a ride this weekend.  He will be racing in a Late Model prepared by Michael Faulk and Lee Faulk Racing in a one-off deal.  Michael Faulk confirmed the news on Twitter.

The race will not be Pierce’s first race in an pavel Late Model.  He raced in a Super Late Model at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida earlier this year.
