CHARLOTTE, NC :: McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) and Nesbitt Racing Enterprise announce another top 10 finish for 13 year old Cole Glasson in the sixth points race of the Southeast Super Truck Series at Newport Speedway. During practice, Cole quickly picked up the track and was sitting in P4 and P8 after both practice sessions of the 19 truck field. Cole had his best qualifying effort of the season posting a time to put him tied for 4th and starting P5 in the 75 lap main event. At the drop of the green flag, Cole settled into P6 and hooked up with a six truck breakaway and pulled away from the rest of the field. On lap 23, the first caution of the night came out, and unfortunately the engine issues that plagued us earlier in practice came back causing us to lose power. On the restart, Cole quickly fell back in the field and ran just inside the top 10. He was able to hold on and move into P8 by the checkered flag.  Currently, Cole is sitting 2nd in the rookie of the year chase- 10 points back, and 5th in the overall championship race.

Glasson stated, “We had an awesome truck handling wise and felt we had worked through our engine issues after the top 5 qualifying effort. Unfortunately they came back after the first caution, and we did not get the finish we were capable of.” He went on to thank his main financial sponsors of ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions as well as his many other sponsors K1RaceGear, Dallas Karting Complex, Comet Cleaners, and Real Sports Websites. “I cannot thank ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions enough for their continued support in 2014, and we look forward to the next race at Greenville-Pickens chasing our first win of the season.”

Tonya McCallister, Glasson’s agent, states “We were very pleased with the qualifying results and keep learning and improving each race. We have no doubt our second half of the season we should be able to improve on the results so far. We start returning to tracks now and Cole and the team will be able to focus more on speed than learning the tracks. We are extremely happy to be sitting 5th in points right now and contending every race.” Martin Nesbitt, Team owner, went on to say, “We were disappointed that we had the engine issues we did as we knew we had a strong finish in store. The good news is we continue to build on the season and as soon as luck turns our way, we know we have some very strong finishes.”
