CHARLOTTE, NC :: McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) and Nesbitt Racing Enterprise announce another great run for 14 year old Cole Glasson in the eighth points race of the Southeast Super Truck Series at Anderson Motor Speedway.
During practice, Cole was running P6 and P7 in a very strong 20 truck field. He qualified P7 but started P5 due to a technical infraction of another driver. At the green flag, Cole battled with the top 5 leaders throughout a caution filled first half of the race. As the race reached halfway, Cole started pushing to overtake P3. At lap 50 another caution came out; Cole brushed the wall with his right front wheel, breaking the A-frame, and ended his night with a P12 finish. Currently, Cole is sitting 2nd in the rookie of the year chase- 15 points back and 4th in the overall championship race.
Glasson stated, “The team gave me a great truck tonight. Our strategy was to stay with the leaders then go for the front the last 25-30 laps. This worked as we found ourselves in P4 and charging for P3. I just pushed too hard and scraped the wall breaking my steering and ending my night.” He went on to thank his main financial sponsors of ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions as well as his many other sponsors K1RaceGear, Dallas Karting Complex, Comet Cleaners, and Real Sports Websites. “I cannot thank ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions enough for their continued support in 2014, and we look forward to the next race at Kingsport Speedway in two weeks and chasing our first win of the season.”
Tonya McCallister, Glasson’s agent, states “Cole drove great; doing exactly what he was supposed to do. His team gave us a super fast truck, and we were definitely a top 3 truck. Cole learned a lot and will be ready for the next race.” Martin Nesbitt, Team owner, went on to say, “We continue to be impressed, and I know Cole is learning every race weekend. He was running hard to catch P3 and just pushed a little too much. I would rather have that in a driver than a driver that doesn’t give it his all.”
