NASHVILLE, TN :: Chase Elliott looks to pick up his first All-American 400 on Saturday night.

Things started off well for the Dawsonville, Georgia driver on Saturday afternoon when Elliott set fast time in the Southern Super Series portion of Saturday’s 400.

Elliott was the final car to go out in qualifying and laid down a lap of 18.515 seconds around the 0.596-mile track on the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

“Every race is important to me and every race to all our guys and everybody that helps us.” Elliott said following his qualifying run.

Hunter Robbins went out fairly early in the session and put up a time that would hold until Elliott’s run. Robbins’ time was a 18.537 and was good for second quickest.

Donnie Wilson was the third fastest driver in Nashville on Saturday afternoon. Winchester 400 winner and Kyle Busch Motorsports driver, Erik Jones was fourth fastest with a 18.651 seconds.

Former Kyle Busch Motorsports driver, TJ Reaid rounded out the top five with a 18.696 second lap time.

Saturday night’s All-American 400 will be the 29th running of the historic race at the Fairground Speedway Nashville.

Last year Ross Kenseth won the race after the race was shorted to 220 laps following rain.
