BRISTOL, TN :: Brandon McReynolds and Ben Rhodes’ crash in the final practice ahead of Saturday’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series East opener at Bristol Motor Speedway halted much of the practice session. Rhodes had the fastest car before the incident but has been forced to pull out a backup car.
Both drivers involved in the incident said oil on the track caused them to crash. McReynolds’ car was loaded up and the team withdrew from competing in Saturday’s Drive4COPD 125. Michael McGuire paced the final practice session with a 16.019 second lap. Rhodes ended the session with the fifth fastest time despite the incident on the track
Cars will return to the track at 5pm EST for qualifying ahead of Saturday’s race.
