Oklahoma City, OK(June 15, 2012) — Coming off of his best career UARA-STARS Series finish of fourth at Anderson Motor Speedway on June 1st, Trey Marcham is eager to head to Newport Motor Speedway for his fourth race of the season.

Marcham, who early in the season seemed to be stuck in a rut with mirroring finishes of 12th at Hickory Motor Speedway and Kingsport Speedway. The 12th place finishes certainly didn’t show how strong Marcham raced in either event, but more a product of circumstances in the first two races. Shedding his bad luck at Anderson, Marcham is excited about how his RD Marcham Chevrolet Impala will perform at Newport.

“Anderson was a good run for us,” said Marcham. “We didn’t really run much better than we had at the other races, but we had a lot better luck. We didn’t get caught up in anyone else’s mess and that helped us to get the finish that this team deserved.”

Marcham is looking for much of the same at Newport.

“I think we can go in there this weekend and have a solid run. This team has been giving me everything I need this year and we are getting better everytime we go to the track. Roger Johnson from Performancenter Racing Warehouse has this car turning and if we can keep the bad luck away, we can have another top five run.”

Marcham and the rest of the UARA-STARS Series drivers will be facing one of the toughest and the smallest track that the tour competes on. Newport Motor Speedway is a 3/10 mile track, known as a bullring and known for separating the men from the boys. It will certainly be one of the toughest challenges for the Rookie of the Year contender, but Marcham feels he’s ready for the challenge.

“I don’t think we’re really ready to compete for a win yet,” concluded Marcham. But, I do think that we’re getting close and getting experience on all these tracks is going to move us even closer to being able to challenge for the win.”

Marcham is supported by RD Marcham Energy, Inc., Simpson Racing Products, LeNorman Operating, Pinnacle Energy Services, Performancenter Racing Warehouse and Roger Johnson Engineering.
