Matt Bowling of Ridgeway, Virginia picked up his fourth win of the season at South Boston Speedway Saturday night, winning the 75-lap NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stock Car Division race.

Bowling edged former NASCAR Whelen All American Series National Champion Peyton Sellers of Danville, Virginia by .811-second in a six-lap dash to the finish that followed the last of the race’s four caution periods.
Danny Willis Jr. of South Boston, Virginia finished third with Mark Wertz of Chesapeake, Virginia and Austin Thaxton of South Boston, Virginia rounding out the top five finishers.

Woody Howard, Terry Carroll of Williamsburg, Virginia, Justin Carroll of Lanexa, Virginia, John Moore of Pelham, North Carolina and Chuck Lawson of Providence, North Carolina rounded out the top 10 finishers in the 24-car starting field.

The race was a highly competitive one, with two lead changes among three drivers, with Bowling taking the lead for good with 25 laps to go.

The second race of the night’s scheduled twin 75-lap races was rained out.
