Southeast Super Truck Series Rookie of the Year leader, Ricky Bowers is excited to be headed to Greenville Pickens Speedway.

Last weekend Bowers proved once again that he and his Leicht Motorsports team are one of the top competitors in the Southeast Super Truck Series. Bowers earned his second Top 5 of the season in his first trip to Kingsport Speedway in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Ricky also had his best qualifying effort of the year qualifying 2nd.  The first half of the 75-lap feature race at the “Concrete Jungle” found the #61 truck up front, challenging for the lead.  After being involved in a couple accidents, Bowers still found a way to put his Cometic Gasket Leicht Motorsports Southeast Super Truck in the Top 5.

“The team gave me another great truck at Kingsport, and it showed,” Bowers said, “After all of the ups and downs of the race we were still able to come from the back twice, and secure another Top 5 on the season, I cannot wait to get to Greenville Pickens!”

In addition to Bowers leading Rookie of the Year, he also enters the upcoming race 4th in the SEST Championship standings. Ricky and the #61 team hope to build on the momentum at the next race on June 6th at Greenville Pickens Speedway located in Easley, South Carolina. This will be Bowers first time running at this track, and he hopes to come away with another solid finish.

“I’m really excited to race at Greenville Pickens. I’ve heard that it’s a fast track and I am definitely ready for the challenge.  I cannot thank Eugene Leicht and the team enough for the consistent fast race trucks they provide,” Bowers stated.

“Ricky continues to impress us with his raw talent and willingness to learn.  He adapts so quickly and really likes to go fast.  Greenville Pickens will be right up his alley,” truck owner, Eugene Leicht commented.
