Another strong run at Martinsville Speedway ended in disappointment for Josh Berry in Sunday’s ValleyStar Credit Union 300.

Berry was involved in back-to-back incidents, ultimately ending his race.  First, while racing for the lead, Berry spun off the front bumper of Philip Morris on lap 128, sending him to the rear of the field.  Then, he ended up involved in an incident with Brad Kurth on lap 135, ultimately ending his race.

“That was just a bad sequence there,” Berry said.  “Obviously, we were racing for the lead with Philip.  His motor looked great so he finally got me getting into the corner.  We spun and got put to the back.  Really, we were back there and I got a run on a couple cars, went to the bottom and thought they would let me go and they didn’t.

“It was my fault but I didn’t expect them to turn down into me.  It’s all good, part of racing.”

Josh Berry has never finished in the top-10 at Martinsville Speedway despite all his success in Late Model Stock Car racing.  The veteran now has his sights set on racing in NASCAR and is not sure he will be back next year.

“This race has not been good to me, so, if our car isn’t really too torn up, we’ll see when next year comes around.”
