Fantasy Predictions for 2016 Season

Top Three Drivers
1 – Kres VanDyke – It’s hard not to see that VanDyke has been one of the winningest drivers at Kingsport Speedway and after a couple of bumps in the road last year cost him a chance to race for the championship he’ll be looking to get back to title form this year.

2 – Ronnie McCarty – He won the championship last season and he’s going to be threat to win it again this year.  His six wins last season put him second on the list of winningest drivers of the season right behind VanDyke.

3 – Zeke Shell – Look for him to rebound from a couple of disqualifications last year just like VanDyke as he was one of the most consistent front runners not to be in the hunt for the championship.  He should be this season.

Other Front Runners
Chad Finchum – It’s unclear whether or not he’ll run for the championship at Kingsport Speedway as we expect him to run for the title at Motor Mile Speedway but when Chad FInchum comes to Kingsport he’s always one of the cars to beat.  Last season he raced at Kingsport three times scoring two wins and a third place finish.

Breakthrough Driver
Austin Peters – He’s in a brand new ride moving over to the J&J Racing Team that Lee Tissot has piloted to wins for the last several season at Kingsport.  He had already been a top five competitor driving for his own family owned team but now he’s positioned to put himself in victory lane.

Rookie Threat
Jeff Maupin – He’s in one of Nate Monteith’s old cars, he’s a successful dirt racer at nearby Volunteer Speedway and he debuted last year in the season ending Fright Night 300 and was immediately competitive in the top ten.  He’s going to be the front runner for the Rookie of the Year title and he might just be able to compete for the championship.

Brett Cleek – He’s a second generation racer who’s dad Jeff competed on the dirt surface at Kingsport Speedway but Brett is looking to make a name for himself on the concrete this year.
