Mini Tyrrell Looking Forward to the Challenge of Carteret Speedway

Drivers under the age of 14 years old, who run Late Model Stock Cars have a limited number of tracks that they can travel to race at and Mini Tyrrell is always looking for a new track to race on.

Last year Carteret County Speedway was NASCAR sanctioned and thus drivers under the age of 14 couldn’t compete on the beautiful 4/10 mile track located in Swansboro, NC just minutes from Emerald Isle beach. This year the track has decided to drop their NASCAR sanctioning and adopt the South East Limited Late Model rules for their top tier class and that has opened the door for Mini to begin racing there.

Mini had already been looking to run at Carteret County Speedway and with the recent announcement of a $15,000 to win Limited Late Model race at the track on July 7th, the team knew it was time to make the trip and get ready for the big race. Mini is looking forward to getting to race there.

“I’m looking forward to going to Carteret,” said Mini. “I’ve only seen it in pictures but the place looks absolutely beautiful and looks like a great race track. We’re hoping to get dialed in down there this coming weekend and be ready to compete in the big race.”

Mini was originally schedule to head back to his home track of Shenandoah Speedway, where he’s won two Late Model championships but the opportunity to go to Carteret was one he couldn’t pass up.

“I was looking forward to getting back to my home track. Shenandoah will always be my home. The fans there and the staff and the people there are just like family. We’re still going to get over there to race but right now we just want to get some laps in on as many tracks as possible before I turn 14 and we can go everywhere.”

Mini is supported by Castrol Edge, PPC Lubricants, Beautiful Bodies Auto Body Shop and Team Racing Virginia.
