Mike Looney has been on a roll as of late and that roll continued in qualifying for the Hampton Heat 200 at Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway.  Looney won the pole with a lap of 15.858, besting a 23-car field in preparation for tonight’s 200-lap race.

Looney with a Chevrolet Upgrade engine (Spec) out-qualified Nick Smith, who had a Ford Crate engine in the TORP Chassis house car. Smith will start on the outside of the front row tonight with Greg Edwards (Chevrolet Upgrade), CE Falk (Chevrolet Upgrade) and Timothy Peters (Harrington Enforcer) completing the top five qualifiers.

Lee Pulliam, Brenden Queen, Layne Riggs, Danny Edwards and Connor Hall completed the top ten in qualifying. Tonight’s 200-lap race is the second leg of the Virginia Triple Crown Late Model Stock Car series, which comes to a dramatic end with the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway in October.
