HIGH POINT, NC :: Tommy Lemons, Jr. drove a Hedgecock Racing Enterprises chassis in to victory lane in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville Speedway, capping a winning season filled with victories and championships for Hedgecock-built racecars as Hedgecock chassis proved to be the difference between winning and finishing second.

At Martinsville, the top six cars in qualifying all ran Hedgecock-built racecars and six out of the top 10 finishers all drove Hedgecock cars.  The Martinsville successes capped off a season where Hedgecock Racing Enterprises cars won the NASCAR Whelen All American Series (NWAAS) National Championship and multiple track and state championships.

“I’m proud of all the drivers and all our cars,” said Jay Hedgecock.  “Our cars have won four of the last five NASCAR National Championships and our cars won numerous championships.  We’re proud of all our guys.  Lee had a great season, Tommy had a great run at Martinsville but we can’t forget Deac McCaskill, Chad Finchum, Ryan Stiltner, Peyton Sellers and all the guys who raced our cars this year.”

Lee Pulliam won the NWAAS National Championship as well as the NWAAS Virginia State Championship, track championships at South Boston Speedway and Motor Mile Speedway and the Dirty Dozen championship.  Deac McCaskill finished second in the NWAAS National Championship Standings and won the NWAAS North Carolina State Championship and the Southern National Motorsports Park track championship.  Chad Finchum, who was the pole sitter and fastest qualifier at Martinsville, won the NWAAS Tennessee State Championship and the Kingsport Speedway track championship.  Ryan Stiltner won the track championship at Lonesome Pine Raceway.  Peyton Sellers won the Virginia Triple Crown Championship.  Sellers also won the Hampton Heat 200 at Langley Speedway while Lee Pulliam won the big races at South Boston and Motor Mile.

Lemons, Stiltner, Wayne Ramsey, Hayden Woods and Bruce Anderson all finished inside the top 10 in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300.  Pulliam, McCaskill and Philip Morris were all driving Hedgecock chassis and were all running inside the top five before getting swept up in a late race incident.
