After mother nature halted the last scheduled event at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC, the track will come back to life this Friday night June 14th with a special event for multiple divisions.

The Late Model Stock Cars were originally scheduled to battle for a 100-lap race but now will take part in twin 50-lap races.  The two Late Model races will pay $2,000 to win each race, making it a $4,000 prize for anyone who can sweep both features.

In the three Late Model Stock Car races held at Ace Speedway so far this season, Ryan Millington has won two of them with Justin Carroll taking the win in the other race. However, several other drivers have performed well and will be looking to get a win in the shorter distance races this weekend including RD Smith. Smith dominated the first race of the season before both Carroll and eventual winner Millington slipped by him late.

The shorter distance features could prove perfect for Smith to get his first win of the season but another driver who could be poised for a victory is the “Reidsville Rocket” Jason York. York missed the first race of the season but has finished third and second in the last two contests and needs just one more position to put his car back in victory lane.

In addition to the twins for the Late Model Stock Cars, the Mini Stocks will compete for 30-laps. Depending on how many cars show up for this special Mini Stock race the field will either compete for $700 to win or $1,000 to win. If the field is 20 cars or less they will race for $700 to win, but if the field is 21 cars or more strong the winner will receive $1,000. The higher car count will also result in a pay raise through the field with the last place car receiving at least $65 instead of $50 to start if there are less than 21 cars.

Limited Late Models, Modifieds, Extremes, and Bandoleros will also compete during a big night of racing during the Flag Day 225. The night will also feature a fireworks display for the fans at 9:00pm.

RACE22.com will have RACEDAY LIVE updates from this event starting at 7:00pm with qualifying.
