HAMPTON, VA :: Langley Speedway will be going back to running Hoosier F45s in 2015 after running a combination of Hoosier F45s and F50s the past two seasons as a result of the recent repavement of the track surface.

When the track was repaved prior to the start of the 2013 season, Langley Speedway changed their tire rules to have drivers use the Hoosier F50 tires on the right side of the car while running the F45s on the left side.  The rule change came about because of the tire wear that was exhibited on the new surface.

“The decision has been made to go back to the Hoosier F45 tires all the way around for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stock Cars for the 2015 season,” a statement issued by Langley Speedway Race Director Jimmie Walker and Langley Speedway Competition Director Shayne Laws read.  “The racing surface has two seasons of racing on it now and we feel the time is right to back to the four F45s.”

The F45s will likely promote faster speeds as well as more side-by-side racing at tricky track which sports only six degrees of banking in the corner.

Langley Speedway has already released its schedule for the 2015 season, which will be the 65th season of racing at the .396-mile oval in Hampton, Virginia.  The 65th season will kick off on April 4th.  Langley Speedway’s mid-summer classic, the Hampton Heat 200, will be run on July 25th.
