THORNBURG, VA – Jeff Oakley was fastest in qualifying for the Virginia Lottery 100 at Dominion Raceway on Thursday night, however the track will do an invert to decide the starting lineup.

Oakley leads the championship standings at Dominion Raceway and hopes to continue a strong season with a victory on Thursday night against stiff competition, such as Tyler Hughes, Grayson Cullather and others.  Oakley’s pole lap was a 15.294.

“The guys gave me a good car,” Oakley said.  “We normally qualify well but they invert us here so where we’re going to start is another question.  Let’s just get out there and see what we can do.  It’s going to be a long race so we’ve just got to bide our time and make sure we’ve got tires at the end.”

Tyler Hughes qualified in second while Michael Hardin, Eddie Johnson and Grayson Cullather rounded out the top-five in qualifying.

The green flag will fly on feature racing at Dominion Raceway at 7pm, with the Virginia Lottery 100-lap Late Model Stock Car feature being the next to last race of the evening.
