HICKORY, NC :: It is hard to believe that we are already half way through our 2014 season. It has been anything except what we expected. After spending the first 5 or 6 races simply rebuilding the car, we have finally finished 3 races in a row without incident. Over the off season we worked hard to strip the car down, fix numerous issues and put a nice fresh powder-coat on the chassis. We followed that up by a new AR Bodies 2013 Chevy Camaro body.

The car turned out amazing and the team and I were very pleased. We spent the off season working with not only AR Bodies to secure the body, but with Williams Ebeling Enterprises to make this not only a good looking car but a safer one as well. Then only to have it destroyed the first race of the year.

We would get the car fixed only to have some help getting turned head on into another car on the track this time sustaining substantial front end and chassis damage. Needless to say, this has been a very trying season for our team. They have never given up and surrender is not an option.

We finally got our first top 10 finish the other week and are making improvements for next weekend’s race. While we have not been able to perform to our expectations on the track, we have learned a lot about the car and each other.

We have also had the privilege to see some cool things off the track as well. From hanging out with fans, to giving away T-shirts and signing autographs we have built some neat relationships with those that allow us to put on a show for them week in and week out. We are ready for that first win, and look forward to making the car better. Each week we have taken an aspect of the car and tried to better understand it.

This week, it’s the shocks. It is time to take a look at them and make sure they are performing where they need to be. Who knows maybe next week we can finally break into the top 5 and show off some of the hard work that our guys are putting in? I’m so humbled to be a part of this team and to see the doors that God is opening for us to move forward with our racing program.
