LUCAMA, NC – Conventional wisdom in racing says drivers will ride around in the first half to take care of the car before mounting a charge in the second half. Southern National Motorsports Park hopes to defy that conventional wisdom in the Late Model Stock Car race at the Thanksgiving All-Star Classic on November 29th

Southern National Motorsports Park has added a $2,000 bonus for leading at halfway, which encourages drivers to race harder for the lead in the first half. Along with the prize money, the halfway leader also gets the benefit of starting first to lead the race back to green for the second half.

The $2,000 halfway bonus comes on top of an $8,000 payday to the winner of the race, making it possible for the winner of the race to take home $10,000. Second place finishes $3,000 to win and third place pays $2,000 to win. The Thanksgiving All-Star Classic pays $300 to start.

The 200 lap Late Model Stock Car race will be the grand finale in the three day, 10 race Thanksgiving All-Star Classic, following a 125 lap Super Late Model feature race. Both the Late Model Stock Car race and the Super Late Model race will be held on Sunday, November 29th.
