Kingsport, TN(March 16, 2012) — Daniel Pope made his move with less then ten to go to claim the win on Friday night at Kingsport Speedway.  Pope started fifth in the sixty lap affair and claimed the lead on lap fifty two over last weeks winner Nate Monteith.  Monteith would come home in second.

The biggest incident of the night was when Lee Tissot and Zeke Shell got together exiting the fourth turn.  Both cars were heavily damaged but Tissot was able to continue on.  Shell however was done for the night.

On the start, Hayden Woods would spin the tires allowing Zeke Shell and Lee Tissot to clear him before the backstretch.  Nate Monteith and Woods would make contact resulting in damage to the left front fender of the Monteith machine.

The first caution of the night would fly earlier on.  Lap six would see Blake Jones and Royce Peters make contact racing for position.  Peters would go around while Jones would continue on.  Jones night would come to an end just several laps later when his car went up in smoke.

A green flag run would take the field to lap thirty six when Nick Cole would go around in turn two.  Shell, Monteith, Pope, Tissot and Woods were the top five at this point.

The restart would see the leaders take off when Paul Nigradi would spin in turn one.  At the same time, Shell and Tissot where wrecking off turn four.  It appears Shell would make contact with the outside wall, collecting Tissot and both would go spinning into the inside wall.  Shell would be done for the night, but Tissot would get his car fired and continue on.

With Shell and Tissot out of the running, Nate Monteith had the lead fall right into his lap.  He would hold the lead until eight to go when Daniel Pope would make his move.  The two would battle side by side for several laps before.  Pope would finally make the pass coming out of turn town and clear him down the backstretch.

Pope would hold one with Monteith right their beating on his back bumper.  Hayden Woods would come home third. Greenville-Pickens regular, Anthony Anders would come home fourth.  Lance Gatlin would round out the top five.

The Late Model Stock Cars do it again next Friday night with another sixty lap event on tap.
