SOUTH BOSTON, VA – Corey Heim prevailed in a thrilling battle with Anthony Cataldi to get the win in the CARS Response Energy Super Late Model Tour finale at South Boston Speedway on Saturday.

Heim and Cataldi swapped the lead back-and-forth in the final laps.  Cataldi got around Heim with six laps to go but, with five to go, Heim executed a crossover maneuver to get to the inside of Cataldi and retake the lead – and the win.

“It was great racing,” Heim said.  “Coming into this race, I knew we had a really great chance of winning it.  Car was good all day.  [Cataldi] was a little faster than me there at the end.  Glad I could hold him off.  It was a really racy racetrack.  Hard contact racing but I’m fine with that.  Perfect redemption.  I’m glad we could finally get a win at South Boston.  Perfect redemption for me.  He raced me hard but he raced me right, he didn’t wreck me or dump me, rubbing’s racing so I’m fine with the way he raced me and I’m glad we come home in one piece in victory lane.  Hopefully the fans enjoyed it too.”

Cataldi settled for second while Brandon Lynn, Tate Fogleman and Nolan Pope rounded out the top-five.  Jared Fryar clinched the CARS Super Late Model Tour championship.
