FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hudson, NC(October 15, 2012) – Sammy Jasper climbed from 16th to fifth in Saturday night’s Alpha Energy Solutions 150 at Tri-County Motor Speedway, however late race engine problems relegated him to a seventh place finish. It is Jasper’s second top-ten finish in the UARA-STARS series this season.

Jasper worked his way through the field during the 150 lap race and appeared to be in good shape for a top-five finish. On a late race restart, the engine problems began to give him problems. He worked to salvage his top-five finish but was bodyslammed by another competitor in the closing stages.

“We had an awesome car tonight,” Jasper said. “We definitely had a top-five car but the motor was weak at the end of the race. We continue to improve each race and hopefully we’ll be knocking on the door of that win at Rockingham. We just need a little bit of luck.

“The car has been good, the engine performance is usually there and the team does a great job each race. We just need all the pieces to come together for one race and we’ll be in contention to win.”

Jasper’s next race will be at Rockingham Speedway on Saturday, November 3, 2012 for the UARA-STARS season finale, the Classic 3 Championship Presented by RCR Racing Museum November 3rd.
