Cameron “Country Cam” Murray held off Emily Day for his first Legend Car victory at Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday, one day after a Bandolero victory at Wake County Speedway.

Murray, driving for Dillon Spain Motorsports, competed for the first time with the new FZ09 engine and drove in the DSM house car.  He was second quickest in practice, and started fourth in the race, but eventually raced his way to the lead in just two laps and went on to score the win.

“I can’t thank Dillon Spain and Will Bristle enough for giving me one fast hot rod,” Murray said.  “Getting a win at Southern National Motorsports Park is just awesome, especially against great competitors like my Dillon Spain Motorsports teammates.  I hope we can keep on winning.”

After Murray got the lead early in the race, he had to fight off challenges from Day and Ryan DeMartini.  Day and Martini got together, setting up a late race restart.  In the final laps, Murray held off one more charge from Day.

On Friday night, he picked up a win in a Bandolero feature at Wake County Speedway.  His younger sister, Olivia Murray, also started the race at Wake County, finishing fourth.

Murray will compete in races at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway during the week, competing with Kendall Sellers and AK Performance.ac
