Updates Today by: Langley Austin ~ [email protected]

10:35am ~ Just arrived at the track … it’s an awesome day for a race, too bad we can turn these guys loose for a non-points All-Star style race today.  We’ll have updates for you as the day continues to unfold, we’ll have a car count for you and some lap times as soon as they are available.

11:26am ~ ESPN TV Analyst, Brad Daughtery smacked the wall in Legends/Celebrity Practice after reportedly breaking a hub … got a Couple of times for you early in practice … Alex Yontz 15.949, Brandon McReynolds 16.029, Darrell Wallace, Jr. 16.156, Jake Crum 16.300 and Caleb Holman 16.309 … that’s the top five from practice as of right now … we will try to have more times as the day continues and hopefully update you on your favorite driver as well.

12:06pm  ~ Rob Fuller ended the morning practice a few minutes early with a crash after what appeared was a cut tire.  Fuller’s car had a tire rub for most of practice and it bit him in the end.  We’ll have some lap times for you from the morning session in just a few moments.

Notes: Caught up with Garrett Cambell, he said his car was pretty decent and that in the second session they will put on some sticker tires and tweak on the car to catch up.

Kyle Grissom, the man with the fastest car for most of the day at Rockingham Speedway said that he was really struggling today and it shows in his practice times.  He’s going to have to keep his car from bottoming out to pick up some speed today.

Kyle Moon had the same bottoming out problem as well as having a electrical issue that cut all power from his car at one point.  He says it’s fixed and that he will be much better in the second practice.

Alex Yontz, the only two time winner here at Bristol Motor Speedway in the UARA-STARS is again the cream of the crop.  We’ll try to catch up with him shortly and see how he’s feeling about today … no doubt he’s feeling pretty good about himself.

1:43pm ~ The UARA-STARS is having a little computer glitch transferring the times from the tower to the infield, but Wink Bodenhamer was gracious enough to give us a top five run-down as we sit under the red flag after Darrell Wallace, Jr. looked to have cut a tire and brought out the caution.

1 – Alex Yontz 15.895
2 – Brandon McReynolds 15.898
3 – Matt McCall 15.964
4 – Richard Boswell 15.997
5 – Darrell Wallace, Jr. 16.023

Notes: Alex Yontz continues to pace testing today, but Brandon McReynolds is hot on his heels with Matt McCall in the “Pig Rig” Ford FUsion chasing after them as well.

Brennan Poole continues to impress in the Fat Head Racing entry as he is the fastest among the rookies and remains in the top ten in practice times.

We’ll have more as the cars have just hit the track once again …

1:52pm ~ John Stancill went up in smoke right after the cars resumed, we’ll try to find out if he blew an engine or if there was another problem.

Notes: Jeff Caudill is busy today turning wrenches on his brother, Jamey’s car as well as helping Paddy “The Missle” Rodenbeck, who was very fast in the morning session of practice.  Rodenbeck is returning for his second full season of UARA-STARS racing ans is looking for a strong season.

Alex Yontz, who is a top the leaderboard and has been all day said he’s good, but he’s getting ready to make a sticker run and he simply shrugged his shoulders and said “maybe it will slow us down” laughing as he walked away.  Yontz is confident and he should be … he’s the man at this joint.

2:35pm ~ Brandon McReynolds goes to the top of the chart with a 15.688 … Alex Yontz 15.895 … Richard Boswell 15.920 … Owen Kelly 15.936 … Matt McCall 15.950 … Kyle Grissom 15.992.

John King cut down a tire moments ago … seems that there maybe a tire issue.  We’ll let you know what we find out.
