The stage is set for the inaugural Solid Rock Carriers 150 at Carteret County Speedway, with the green flag ready to fly on Saturday night at 7pm.

The event unofficially got underway on Friday.  Brandon Clements paced Fast Friday practice with a 16.125 second lap while Tyler Horne, Chris Burns, Eric Winslow and Clay Jones were also fast.  Each of the fast five drivers were former Carteret County Speedway winners, signaling that experience may win out on Saturday night.

“It feels like we have a really great shot,” Clements said.  “The car was really good on old tires.  We focused on that most of the day and switched toward the end and surprised ourselves with our mock qualifying run.  We are shooting for the pole and feel like we will be a force to be reckoned with at lap 150.  To be fastest today feels really good but it’s lap 150 tomorrow that pays and I feel like we will be right there.”

The Solid Rock Carriers 150 has attracted all the local heavyweights as well as out-of-town drivers such as Layne Riggs, Jason York, Austin Somero, Heath Causey, Jimmy Wallace and Mini Tyrrell.  Michael Tilley is also making his Carteret County Speedway return this weekend.

2017 Southern National Motorsports Park Late Model champion Mason Diaz was fast in Legends practice.  Diaz, racing for Dillon Spain Motorsports, will be teamed up with Cameron Murray.  Emily Day, who has been close to victory lane at Southern National and Carteret County, was also fast in practice.

Mini Cups and Mini Stocks will also be in action on Saturday night.

The green flag will fly on the Solid Rock Carriers 150 at 7pm.  Tickets are available at the gate for $20.  Kids 10 and under get in free.  The race will also be broadcast on PitRow.TV’s streaming PPV service starting at $25.
