Another text message is being sent to competitors this evening to inform them that Race Director for this weekend’s ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway, Lynn Carroll has decided to remove the 390 Carburetor from the options of equalling the field.

Carroll and his staff had previously sent a text for all teams to have a 390 carburetor available this weekend.

This change comes after a lot of feedback today from the drivers and teams.

Here’s what the text says:

“TO: ALL THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE VALLEY STAR CREDIT UNION “300”

Attention all teams after many conversations today with competitors race director Lynn Carroll has decided to not use the 390 carburetors as one of the tools to equalize competition. Each team still needs to have access to the following listed below. Thank you for all for the communication today as we all try to make this a great race and not add additional cost

* Multiple RPM Chips for Ignition Boxes

* Gears Options to be comparable with any RPM changes

* Extra Lead Ballast

Thank you for your corporation”

The engines will still be evaluated on Thursday for any possible changes but the 390 carburetors will not be used. Contact Lynn Carroll if you have any additional questions.
