Copper Hill, VA(December 5, 2012) — Just because the final checkered flag of the season has flown doesn’t mean that RACE22.com’s 2012 is over.

RACE22.com and our staff of writers from all over the region are working on some stories to reflect on the incredible seasons tracks throughout the area had from the touring series such as the UARA-STARS, PASS South, PASS National, SouthEast Limiteds, SouthEast Super Trucks to race tracks from Kingsport to Langley and Hickory to Myrtle Beach and everything in between.

We’re going to give the 2012 season a deep look back from analyzing how the champions got to be crowned to the bumps and stumbles of others; from the National Champion, who started out the season suspended to the UARA-STARS Series champion who was consistent all season but turned up the wick at the end, from the Tennessee State Champion who stumbled at the start of the season only to rework his program from top to bottom and regain his position atop to the North Carolina State Champion that came out of “retirement” to dominate the season at Southern National Motorsports Park.

The South Carolina State Champion, who dominated the first several weeks of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National points only to fall as the chips were cashed in by others and he still took home a track championship in his first full season at Myrtle Beach.  The quiet young driver, who emerged from Hickory Motor Speedway as champion as another future NASCAR stars resume was written to the up and coming drivers, who nabbed championships at South Boston and Motor Mile with single victories on the season.

From the young driver who redeemed himself with a second championship at Ace Speedway, a year after his worst career season to the little engines that could and did at Caraway and Concord.  The super team that cut their National Champion driver due to lack of sponsorship before the team eventually faded away into the night.  From the Virginia track that might have crowned its final champion to another track in North Carolina that rebuilt itself amidst the toughest economy short track racing has ever seen.

From the two Virginia tracks that saw one driver dominate, one where the dominator took home the championship after winning an unprecedented nine in a row to the track where the dominator took home 10 wins on the season, but saw his championship go to his rival after he was disqualified from three races.  Two South Carolina champions, one that dominated for 13 wins on his longtime home track to the other who won just two events.

Last but not least, the RACE22.com proclaimed “King” of Late Model Stock Car racing finding himself without a ride just days before the season opener and not returning until the season was almost completed, but he still claimed the biggest prize in all of LMSC racing.

Those are just a sample of the headlines and storylines that we’re going to touch on this month and into January as we recap the season as a whole.  We’re also going to be unveiling a new fan vote format for the “22 Awards”.  The “22 Awards” are an array of awards geared toward racers from the prestigious “Driver of the Year” to the always entertaining “Best Crashes” and “Best Moments” of the year.

Sit back and enjoy this holiday season and know that while the real news maybe talking about jumping off a cliff or something like that, RACE22.com will be here to make sure you keep your racing buzz all winter long.
